Adults of all genders. Most guests arrive on their own and know nobody. The group is small enough that by the second morning everyone knows your name.

Do I need to be fit?

No. There is a horse riding tour and a fair amount of walking on uneven ground, and nothing on the schedule requires a particular level of fitness. Anything you would rather sit out, you sit out.

Five days, five elements, in the order the tradition gives them. Earth, Water, Fire, Air, Akasha. Each day is built around one of them.

What actually happens each day?

Earth is a pottery class and sound bowls on the rooftop. Water is a Turkish hamam and the pool at Aza. Fire is the hot air balloons at sunrise and the red valleys. Air is the Göreme Open Air Museum and a private horse riding tour. Akasha is rooftop Pilates, a whirling dervish ceremony, a carpet photoshoot, and a closing sound session.

Is this a religious retreat?

No. We attend a whirling dervish ceremony, which is a Sufi practice with eight hundred years of history in this part of Türkiye, and we go as guests. Nobody is asked to participate in anything.

What kind of room do I get?

Your own cave room, cut into volcanic stone. Rooms are held across Koza Cave Hotel and Aza Cave Hotel, which sit across the street from each other in Göreme. Room assignment is made by us after booking.
